Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano will travel to New York City on Wednesday, July 29. Secretary Napolitano will deliver a major address on homeland security and the Department’s approach to preventing terrorist attacks at the Council on Foreign Relations. She will also visit Ground Zero and meet with counterterrorism experts, first responders and law enforcement leaders.

Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano met with U.S. governors at the National Governors Association Conference in Biloxi, Miss., to discuss Gulf Coast emergency preparedness efforts, H1N1 flu and the Pass ID secure identification legislation—designed to fulfill the 9/11 Commission’s recommendation to establish national standards for secure driver’s licenses.
